More than 300 million people speak French worldwide. It is the second most widely learned foreign language after English, meaning it is a great way to get to the parts of the world English cannot reach!
2. A language for work
The ability to speak French and English is a huge advantage on the international job market.
Many French-speaking countries are key UK economic partners. French is a working and an official language of the United Nations, the European Union, UNESCO, NATO, the International Olympic Committee and the International Red Cross.

With French you can access renowned French-speaking universities and business schools, which are ranked among the top higher education institutions in the world.

French is the international language of cooking, fashion, theatre, the visual arts, dance and architecture. A knowledge of French offers access to great works of literature, films and songs from all 5 continents.
